Classes at Our Bilingual Preschool in Paris

P1-ecole-primaire-rc

Located in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, Galilée private school offers French-English bilingual education starting in preschool. Our bilingual preschool in Paris has first, second and third-year classes.

Each year includes a full bilingual program that balances education equally between English and French. This dual curriculum helps children develop linguistic skills in both languages.

Our teaching follows the official policies of French National Education. We accept children starting at 2.5 years of age, introducing them to English through daily fun activities.

Classes at our bilingual preschool in Paris are capped at 20 children. Half days are available for 2 and 3-year olds.

A Typical Day

P2-ecole-primaire-rc

At our bilingual preschool in Paris, we plan days with structure and kindness, in accordance with children’s needs. Our calm and organised classrooms facilitate concentration and learning. We integrate arts, crafts, games and relaxation.

Core learning, including English class with an experienced teacher, takes place in the morning. Reading, writing and beginning math are introduced when the child shows interest, conducive to personalised and gradual learning.

Lessons are specific to each age group and take each child’s needs into account. We offer activities adapted to specific needs and stages of development, including gifted children.

Communication between children and teachers follows the principles of Non-Violent Communication, a method developed by psychologist Marshall Rosenberg, in order to facilitate a respectful and constructive educational setting.

Recreation

Every day after lunch or nap time, the children at our bilingual preschool in Paris spend 1.5 h at Sainte Périne Park. They need to move, socialise and be in contact with nature. Those that need more rest, no matter their age, stay at school for a nap. We adapt the schedule to their capacities and needs.

The afternoon is dedicated to artistic activities, creative and fun games, and introducing them to the wider world. Physical education is offered every day, in both French and English, grounding bilingual communication in physical practice.

Classrooms are set up to encourage independence. Children can access equipment and put it away on their own. The variety of equipment we offer facilitates development of fine motor skills, such as pouring, screwing, lacing, buttoning and cutting.

We use Maria Montessori’s principles in our approach to education. During the three years of preschool, values such as independence, mutual respect, kindness and cooperation are cultivated in order to develop the emotional and social skills that each child needs for living in society.

English Classes Start the First Year of Preschool

P4-ecole-primaire-rc

Starting the first year, children at our bilingual preschool in Paris start English with a fun and immersive approach. Classes are taught by experienced English teachers that communicate only in English with the students, facilitating natural second language acquisition.

Early immersion is an advantage, particularly for gifted or high-potential children, who are stimulated in a way that fits their cognitive needs.

Physical activities are also provided each day in both languages, integrating bilingualism into their daily lives. Lessons take the form of interactive, real-life communication situations.

Learning English isn’t just about the language. It also opens children to other cultures and learning methods.

École Galilée has been preparing students for the Cambridge English Exams since 2010, with a 100% success rate from the Starters level to KET.

Physical education

At our bilingual preschool in Paris, physical activities are led by qualified instructors in French and English. These daily activities are an integral part of our educational program, adapted to the age and abilities of our students.

In accordance with French National Education policies, physical education is designed to develop motor, physical and relational skills. Children learn to better manage their bodies, interact with their environment and understand essential social cues through movement.

The activities we offer combine athletics and artistic expression, giving children access to a wide variety of practices. They meet natural movement needs while cultivating values such as discipline, focus and cooperation.

For gifted children, sports are an essential means of expression. They provide an opportunity for these children to better understand themselves, develop their social skills and build healthy habits.

Physical Development and Expression

At our bilingual preschool in Paris, physical activities and body-centred experiences play a key role in our children’s motor, sensory, emotional and cognitive development. These explorations allow them to take action, express themselves and progressively interact with a variety of environments.

They learn about their bodies, how to move safely and meet challenges appropriate for their abilities. They gain independence and learn to regulate energy and name movements, actions and objects. Students at École Galilée, including gifted children, develop motor skills through movement (running, jumping, climbing, rolling), balance, manipulation (pushing, pulling, shaking) and coordination (throwing, catching) exercises.

Structured games with rules encourage cooperation, adaptation and accepting the limitations of working with a group. These group situations help teach children how to live in society.

Creative movement, such as circles, dance games, mime and dance, offer children a way to express their emotions through movement while stimulating creativity and imagination.

The Advantages of Bilingual Education

Bilingual Preschool in Paris

Language learning is a key component of our bilingual preschool in Paris located in the 16th arrondissement. Starting with the first year, our students’ educational environment is divided equally between French and English, with 50% of classes given in each language.

Choosing bilingual education starting with the first years of school facilitates natural second language acquisition. With daily immersion, our team offers interactive language learning with specific activities, daily life communication situations and bilingual activities, encouraging intuitive comprehension of both languages.

Disciplines such as music, sports and exploring the world are also taught in English, broadening each child’s cultural horizons and improving their ability to adapt. Unlike approaches that focus on writing, our pedagogy is focused on oral communication, helping students feel more confident in daily exchanges.

This gentle and progressive method allows children to work on their language skills seamlessly. Once they graduate from our international school, they are fully prepared for international bilingual education, starting in elementary school.

Pedagogy at Our School

P2-pedagogie-ecole-privee-rc

With our experience since 2010, our bilingual preschool in Paris offers education that is adapted to the specific needs of each child. We pay particular attention to gifted children, who often have a hard time with traditional schooling, giving value to their unique skills as true tools for success.

Our educational approach goes beyond the official French National Education curriculum. We add a rigorous bilingual education and introduction to the arts starting with the first year of preschool, encouraging holistic growth for each child.

Our goal is clear: allow each student to develop, get to know themselves and build self-confidence. Our teaching team cultivates a challenging and caring environment, with education based on listening, rigor and respecting the needs of each child.
